Picasso, Pablo. (1881-1973) One of the most significant and prolific figures in 20th Century art, Picasso was born in Spain and showed exceptional talent even as a child. In 1901 he moved to Paris and met Lautrec, Gauguin and Van Gogh. In 1907 he met Braque and they began to develop Cubism together. Works representing his various styles include The Tragedy" (Blue period) "The Aficionado", "Woman with Hat" and "Guernica"." |
